A Minecraft Story

The Adventure Begins | A Minecraft Story |

One small, beautiful day, I was playing Minecraft on my PC. I kept playing, more, and more, and more, and soon enough it felt like I would never stop smashing buttons! But, then, the creepy part comes in. The computer flickered–yes, it flickered! I touched the screen, and it was as if my whole body got warped into the screen! I screamed for help. I tried my best. But it was no use, I was already inside the game itself!

I woke up on the grass, and the first thing that came into my mind was escape. Though, this was a new world. None of my progress was here. I walked around, jumped about, called for help, but nothing came out. Then, it turned dark. I was frightened, because I knew what would come out at night. Monsters. And this time, it was real. A zombie came over to me. I punched it in the face and sent it flying.

Soon more zombies came. I got some wood and created a small wood house, enough to keep me safe, though I had trapped myself in. I could hear the zombies groaning and moaning about out there. I shivered. It was really cold as well. I decided to sleep in it for the night, because there was no other place.

When the sun rose, I could hear the zombies burning and screaming. “Yes, yes!” I thought. I was finally safe from them. I broke my way out of the wood house and gathered back up the wood. Then I created a crafting table. I made a wooden sword, a wooden pickaxe, and finally a wooden axe to keep myself easy for chopping trees. I was ready for whatever came in my way. I travelled about 8 miles, but found nothing.

I kept chopping trees, though soon my axe broke. No biggy, I made another one with the plentiful amount of wood I had. I travelled 10 more miles. Nothing. The sun began to sink. I created a small wood house, and a door this time so I wasn’t trapped in it anymore. It looked good. Then, I realised my mistake. I had to get out of here. This isn't the real good world I live in. I stayed up the whole night. Thinking, thinking, thinking. Nothing came to me, absolutely nothing.

Morning came, and I quickly ran out to find a village. I needed wool. To make a bed, of course. It took me a while to find a village, and as soon as I did, I looted it all. And I really mean it, all of it. I was rich! Rich in video-game currency, perhaps. I slaughtered some sheep which I saw nearby, and crafted a bed with the essential needs.

I trotted back home and put the bed in a corner. I set my spawn point. "Phew", I thought. I was finally safe. If I died, I would respawn back here, in this little wood house, right? Well, that was a question that had no answer, yet. I chopped some more wood, and expanded my house. I decided that tomorrow, I would go mining.

So I could finally have a furnace and eat to fill my hunger so I wouldn’t starve. Even though that was the plan, the other part of me was still plotting a plan on how to escape this dimension. There was no screen now. I was stuck, but soon, I knew I would find a way out. Night fell, and I went out to battle with the monsters. I defeated some, but I got hit by some too. My HP was running low.

I headed back to the house to heal. But then, I realised I couldn’t heal. I needed food to heal. My hunger bar wasn’t full, so that meant I couldn’t heal without eating. I facepalmed. I was in a really bad situation, and I knew I would starve to death. I couldn’t go back out, because I didn't want to take the risk of dying. That sounded horrifying to me. I didn’t want to die.

Even though my worries took over me, I forced myself to go out. And, I did so. I fought some zombies, clattered them to death, but then, the skeletons came. I didn’t have a shield! I kept running in circles, trying to dodge their arrows. Then, I charged at them. I killed one but lost 2 hearts. I killed more and didn’t lose any. "Close call", I thought.

I went back inside the small wood house, and sat there, staring at the small holes in the door. I saw the zombies and skeletons, punching and shooting at my small wood house. I wiped the sweat from my forehead. All I could do was wait for the morning and let them burn to their demise.

I travelled to a nearby village when morning came. I had gathered up all the wood and the door from the small wood house I had made. I decided to live in a village for the past few days, since there’s an Iron Golem to keep me safe. I expanded a small house and decided to get glass soon. I looted the whole village as well, because, why not? I was thinking of going mining.

My hunger bar was almost dead, and I didn’t want to starve. I waited a few minutes, adding some last and little touches to my home, set my spawn point, and off I went. I travelled about 2 miles, and alas I came to a huge caravan. I was excited to explore it. I saw coal, some iron too, but no sight of diamonds. I builded my way down, mined the coal and iron, and a lot of stone.

Good, I had enough for a furnace and a new base to upgrade my wood to cobblestone. I had a good thing going, but then, disaster STRUCK. The village went on fire. I sped back to the village, and as soon as I did, I looked up. A health bar! A pillager raid was happening! My house was on fire too.

I stacked up to the roof and put out the fire. I took the wood back and went into my house. I quickly crafted a stone sword. I went outside and battled the pillagers. I was really hungry, too. God, I was hungry. My hunger was depleting the more I fought. I had to defend the villagers too, because I can't let them die. I had to protect them.

I realised something. The Iron Golem! It could help me. But where is it? I couldn’t find it anywhere. I decided to leave it and continue fighting. The pillagers were strong, really strong, they made me lose a lot of HP. I soon defeated them all. The first raid was over. The second raid was coming up. I saw the health bar slowly and slowly rise. But there it was, the Iron Golem! It was finally here. Yes, yes! We are winning this battle, no matter what!” I thought. This was going to be a piece of cake.

The second raid started. We all fought. The iron golem was getting low, and I didn’t have any iron to heal it. We were losing. I killed about 4, and the Iron golem killed 6 pillagers. After a while, the second raid ended. The third raid started. We killed them all again, it took a while, a really long while, but sadly, our Iron Golem had died.

I explored the caravan a little bit more. I saw some water and lava. I could maybe make a cobblestone mine! I trotted towards it, and placed a block. It turned into obsidian. Darn it, I had my chance and I let it slip away from my hands. I travelled deeper into the caravan. I mined some more coal and iron. No diamonds, though. I really wanted diamonds. I was already dreaming of a full set of diamond armour. But this was real. I felt all of it. I felt myself mining, crafting, seeing all of the UI, it was real. I wanted to get out too. I badly wanted to get out.

The next day I crafted an iron sword, pickaxe, and axe. I also made a full set of iron armour from the intense grinding I did in that caravan yesterday. I was set. I travelled across the Minecraft dimension, and saw a small hole. I looked inside of it. There was nothing. I still decided to go inside of the small hole. I explored it, and there was only coal. I mined the coal, and kept digging. But then, when I mined into the right direction deep in the hole or cave, there it was.

I saw a glowing blue orb shaped in a square. I took it. This reminded me of the Minecraft Movie’s blue square orb, and what was that called? Ah yes, the Earth Crystal. I kept digging, and soon enough, I found the Earth Crystal too. I went back up. And I combined it. A huge immense power exploded around me. I went back home. Now I knew what I had to do. Find the portal.

The next day I finished crafting everything, making the village safe and neat. It looked perfect, no doubt. I explored the world a little bit more, and I battled some more monsters at night too. I was having fun. Slashing, killing, running, playing, most importantly. It was fun. I could do whatever I wanted. Nothing could stop me. I wanted to travel to the Nether, but I could risk dying, and I didn’t want that to happen to me. There are piglins, ghasts, endermen, wither skeletons, magma cubes, blazes, zoglins, and goodness knows what else is in there. I decided that tomorrow, I would travel to the portal and escape the Minecraft dimension, once and for all.

The next day I went to the spawn. Where I spawned in the game. And there it was, a Nether portal. It was shining blue. I looked back at the world. I was going to miss it, feeling everything. But I could also sense the real world. My family is probably going nuts as I was playing in this game. My PC was untouched, too. Because, how else would I be able to escape? I touched the soft grass, and looked at the portal. I stepped closer and closer to it. The power of reality was coming to me. Then, I stepped in it. “Goodbye, Minecraft.” And I was out.

I woke up on my gaming chair, in front of my PC. I escaped the dimension. But something weird happened. I saw myself in the game. My own skin. My inventory and everything was the same! The game saved everything. I played for a few hours, and soon enough it was bedtime. I shut down my PC and went to bed. I tucked myself in, and stared at the computer.

It was an amazing adventure. I loved it. There was no other reason to dislike it. This day was special, really special. I remembered a line from the Minecraft Movie; "Anything you can dream about here, you can make." I stared up at the ceiling. I imagined myself continuing the world. Well, I was obviously going to do that. But not inside the game, of course. I will never forget this day. The day Minecraft came to life.
